Small tool box for under a drill press?

The tray was just some hard maple I had. I routed the slots out with a cove bit, 1/2" and 5/8" for the larger bits. Just ran a slot, moved the fence, cut again etc.. I cut a bunch of pieces while I had everything set up and then just trimmed them down to fit the drawers as needed. I really...

Looking for cast material info on Buffalo drill press

The same spot was busted on the Buffalo 18 I have and was brazed at some point before I got it. The repair has held up fine for the 15+ years I've had it. There is likely a bunch of info over on the OWWM forum about making repairs to cast iron. Don't give up, the Buffalo presses are fantastic.

Small tool box for under a drill press?

I built this to slide under my Buffalo 18 drill press. Super simple, made from scrap ply, glued and nailed. The "slides" are just the 1/4" drawer bottoms running in a dado. The handles are aluminum angle. I rounded over the edges and rolled on a couple coats of Rest-o-leum smoke grey and called...

Romex to MC Cable and Grounding

Well ****, yeah I was. I’d seen it done a bunch so never thought twice about that part. Guess I’ll need to circle back on the whole plan, sounds like I may have to do conduit instead. There is an attic but it’s tight. Just can’t commit to what it would take to open up the walls. Appreciate the...

Romex to MC Cable and Grounding

Thanks Sparky The #10 is overkill but I already have it and it was free, and opening up the walls to run all Romex isn't gonna work. I have some #12 that might be appropriate for the dust collector so maybe won't need to go #10 for everything. Good call on the receptacle boxes though, I'll make...

Romex to MC Cable and Grounding

Looking to add a few circuits to a finished garage for a dust collector, air compressor and table saw. I have a flush mounted panel and the walls are already buttoned up. I'd like to run Romex from the panel to an 8x8 box just above the panel, and then transition to MC cable (was gifted a spool...

New Shop Project, critique my electrical plan

So quick update, got the trench dug, conduit installed and MHF pulled. Yard looks like hell but its done. I'll install the junction boxes (went with 8x8x6) and splice the SER/MHF tomorrow. I'll shoot some pics tomorrow, didn't finish up until it was dark. Thanks again for the help!

New Shop Project, critique my electrical plan

Thanks again pattenp, figured that was the case. I'll probably stick with splicing in the SER, no desire to mess with conduit under the house. Picked up my sub panel, conduit and incidentals this morning but got rained out on digging the trench today. Shooting for tomorrow if the ground isn't...

New Shop Project, critique my electrical plan

So here's a question, can I just run SER for the whole run through the conduit? Or is it not rated for that? Price is the same per foot.

New Shop Project, critique my electrical plan

sberry, what do you mean by "pipe it"? The run should be a straight shot, with the two 90 degree elbows at the ends. Definitely agree that the 86A is probably way over what I'll actually pull but I figure if I'm going to the trouble, might as well overdo it a bit. I suppose I could always run...
