Cool to see the stuff used. I have friends who either pay to store stuff for so long, that the rent cost more than the value of the stuff.... or that have dragged stuff from residence to residence, parking cars outside to allow them to store this stuff...that they've never used. ;)
I'm mostly...
I might have got ahead of myself when I built this frame as I assumed I'd either tack or bolt this plate steel top into place...but that was before I painted it. It came out pretty nice so now I don't really love the idea of grinding a clean spot just to then weld it. I'm leaning to...
I was looking at picking up a Husky but was also wanting something heavy duty that could also be a welding table. Some great welding table builds on Youtube.
At this time, the hardie board is installed. They taped the top seam - so now I just need to decide if I want to tile this disaster or perhaps have the stucco guy who is coming to do the outside take a look at stucco for the bottom of the wall (3' up) and use a type of chari molding to split...
The board is up against the Styrofoam insulated board so there isn't technically a "cavity" - but I can see the potential for a moisture sandwich.
The reason I was considering tile was because if you use drywall mud and knockdown, that part will still be damaged by water.
Thanks all. For the mold concern, there isn't much there to retain moisture and I will be running a dehumidifier. We have block walls, then insofast insulated Styrofoam panels (these are grooved on the backside where it meets the block wall and have integrated vertical ABS studs attached with...
Finally getting close to completion on the garage remodel/build. Last minute decision was to place 3x5 hardie board - the waterproof one - as the first course on the wall at the floor, and then transition to drywall above that. We've flooded twice in 20 years of living here but that was...
Back after a long delay. Well not so much a delay - but the rest of the garage has been coming together slowly.
What's going to be the best way to slightly smooth the first side? It has some heavy trowel lines and is generally pretty uneven so Im not really going to be able to completely...
Hey guys, been a while. Having trouble getting my lift to come down. My safety switches got wet and need to be replaced - so I need to hold the bypass, which did work the other day but now, the solinoids cycle as if it's going to come down but then they just lock again and nothing happens. I...
Been working on other stuff so sorry havent been around :)
Mine doesn't seem to leak at all.
BTW, lift is anchored and everything is working...ended up not perfectly level front to back (the lift is like 1/16 out and the concrete looks to be 1/8 out in the other direction, leaving a small...
Mine is up and running! self-leveling concrete in the pits (about 1/4") but it isn't 100% perfect...it's probably 1/16 off on one side - seems self-leveling doesn't really self level very well when poured super thin, which makes sense (now). Also, it figures that the floor seems out 1/16th in...
