    Garage storage for fasteners

jump on market place and find some filing cabinets. I scored some filing cabinets where the drawers are 6" deep so I can use coffee cans for the larger stuff and I use plastic electrical boxes for the smaller stuff

Seems like a nightmare to pack up an entire garage. When is the last time you moved (your entire tools & garage) ?

My wife and I recently found a house that was perfect for us. 4bed 2.5 ba full finished bsmt, 2 car attached, plus a 1800 SQFT 2 story shop on 2 acres. We had an inspection, the house had some issues, nothing major that I couldn't fix myself. Long story short we walked away from it, and I'm...

Any suggestions for a fridge/freezer in a detached mostly unheated garage?

I just prop the boors open slightly when the garage gets below 30 degrees. This allows the cold air from the garage to enter and if the garage warms up the compressor will kick on and keep things cold.

    ok wood stove people

I like the top down method. It puts the hottest flames closer to the flue heating it up faster and pulling smoke faster

    Ryobi tool warranty

I burned up a sawzall within 6 months of purchase. I went back to Home depot and was told by the staff that their period is 90 days and I would have to start a warranty claim. Depot gave me the information and sent me on my way. After several failed attempts to get in touch with a human from the...

Taking apart a 100 year old Japanese house. Constructed with no nails only joinery.

That kind of quality craftsmanship has always impressed me. I have so many unanswered questions... how long did it take to cut the joints how many were on the original crew how long did it take to build

    Starrett posters

I came across a tube of starrett posters on a job. There are probably 10-15 of them, all different. Have you guys ever seen them? Is there any value to them, other than "cool"

    garage destruction

Yup! I have used my Echo CS-310 and taken down many. I but a 2 pak of cheap chains from depot for around $20 and go to town. Over the years I have only really mucked up 1 chain (took off several teeth). Other than that, I toss them in a bucket and when I'm ready for the next shed or demo job, I...

    garage destruction

I have taken down several sheds and garages in my day. I take a chainsaw to all of the studs halfway up all the way around, and push it over. Then grab the chainsaw and cut into manageable pieces for disposal. A 30 yd box will fit your needs just fine, as long as you stack it in and not "willy...

    Safety of Jack Stands

As long as you follow their weight ratings, I wouldn't have a problem. I also use 4x4 cribbing just for extra measure. Years ago My uncle Joe was killed by a failed jackstand.

    Let's see your toolbox.

you guys with your organized tool boxes make me sick. I have my tools in drawers, but they aren't neat and organized like that. I might have to dig for a minute to fine the right screwdriver or wrench, but thats what working in the garage is all about...staying away from the wife, so take your time.

    Anyone using bin cabinets?

floor space is a precious commodity in my garage. I had looked into those, but I didnt like the price. I found a few used filing cabinets with 6 and 8" deep drawers. I bought a mixture of electrical boxes (single gang, double gang, etc..) and used those for my smaller hardware. I managed to...

    Barn find. Who knows what

Yeah approximately that size. As far as turning it into a jewelry box I mean it would remain all original like it is. I would let my wife utilize the drawers. ...that's all.
