OK, the combination of Packard and Rolls-Royce on the plate is very interesting.
During WWII, Packard made a version of the legendary Rolls-Royce Merlin engine (which powered the Spitfire). See

(I've no idea if this is what your chest was for, you could try researching the number on the plate, or track down an expert).
So there is the possibility that your chest has some important history associated with it. It's also probably quite rare. I would recommend trying to find out more, in case it is valuable. (And don't modify or refurb it until you know it's not).
