New breaker tripping...old breaker is fine

The new breaker is not AFCI or GFCI. Not sure about the old one, maybe you guys can tell from the pictures I just posted. Yes, I didn't swapped the circuits inside the panel and the issue does not follow the wire. I only have the issue when the circuit is wired to the new breaker. As far as...

New breaker tripping...old breaker is fine

The low voltage, outside wires were direct burial. In the spring, I plan to check the connections at the each of the lights. I did check the wires from where the enter the house to the panel and they are fine.

New breaker tripping...old breaker is fine

Both the outlet and the transformer are inside next to the main panel. The breaker is not GFCI. Yes, the transformer was plugged into the old circuit for much more than 2 weeks. There was nothing plugged into the new circuit during this time, so I can’t say it tripped during the same period...

New breaker tripping...old breaker is fine

The lights run on a timer, from sunset to 11pm. My assumption is the breaker trips when the timer trips at sunset to activate the lights as I can tell they never come on and if they do come one, they always stay on for the length of the programmed schedule. Seems like the problem started...

New breaker tripping...old breaker is fine

There was a loose connection inside the transformer where one of the load lines connect, but I fixed that some time ago. That issue cause the lights to periodically flicker. Once corrected, the flicker stopped, but the breaker continued to trip. I found that two lights stopped working all...

New breaker tripping...old breaker is fine

That is correct. The only variable is the circuit wire and that's under 10ft in length as both the old & new circuits are right next to the main panel. I'll post a picture of the inside of the panel when I have a moment.

New breaker tripping...old breaker is fine

We had landscape lighting added to our backyard that is run by a 600W transformer. These are all LED lights and I would guess that we are not even scratching the max output of the transformer. A licensed electrician installed a dedicated circuit with a Square D Homeline 20amp breaker…no idea why...

Different circuit sizes in the same gang box

Is it a requirement to tie the grounds from both circuits together or just best practice?

Different circuit sizes in the same gang box

I have an existing single gang box with a 20 amp outlet in it (12/2 wire) and want to replace it with a dual gang box so I can add a 15 amp light switch (14/2 wire) to it. It is my understanding that this would not be a code violation or cause any issues. Can you confirm this is correct? I...

    Lighting recommendation for storage shed

I finished the lighting installation tonight and I am very happy with the results. I installed two Metalux 4ft LED 4000 lumen lights...one on each rafter opposing each other for the "x" configuration that PWC Repair suggested. I mounted them about 27 inches from the roof peak. Not getting any...

    Lighting recommendation for storage shed

Thanks for the info. I'm probably going to add another light underneath the loft to cover that area. Will post results when done.

    Shop light wiring question

Just checked my breaker and it does have two connector receivers on it, so looks like no junction box is needed. BTW, it is a Square D breaker. Thanks for the info everyone.

    Shop light wiring question

Is it bad practice to do this type of splicing inside the breaker panel? Wondering if an electrical inspector would flag it as an issue.

    Shop light wiring question

That would certainly work, but based on the location of the first switch and even the second, I'd have run a lot more wire to get back to light "C".

    Shop light wiring question

Thanks. So for the breaker box splice, would I just connect both black wires to the breaker terminal? Of course both neutrals and grounds would be connected to they respective bars (neutral bar and ground bar).
