Update, my M6 left on a flatbed this morning. I strongly encourage anyone else who has this problem to return their lift and report it to ALI. This is a huge safety concern and their certification should be pulled until it actually meets standards.

They have offered $200 in compensation for my time (up from an initial offer of a "free gift", i.e. roller stool, oil drain pan, etc). I am more concerned with future support and the overall quality; given that it is ALI certified I did not expect such problems.
