Are there any t-track or slot profiles that use commonly-available hardware and allow access so that new bolts can be placed from anywhere along the length of the track, not just slid in from the ends?
The site necessitates the tank location is pretty close to the outside of the shop, where there is a 3-4' drop off just after crossing the driveway (which is right next to the shop). The pipe will be sleeved across the driveway, so we are making up most of the depth required at the vertical stack.
I guess it would be pretty easy for me to backfill with clear stone all the way to daylight versus just under the building. It'll be easy for me to do the same on the eave ends when I add the gutter drains, too. Thanks.
No matter what, the sewer line will have to come through part of the slab...
I'm starting to build a 54x81 metal building in Virginia. The ground is red clay. I am about to install the main sewer line, which has to run about 4' deep through the center of the building. I'll be backfilling the trench under the slab with clear stone (57s). I'm wondering if the trench of 57s...
I got a couple pairs from McMaster. If you search "chemical-resistant gloves" you can choose what solvent you're using them with and they'll tell you which gloves you can use.
I've got two 60" Agrifans in my 32x40x16. I have a variable speed controller and run them towards low in the winter and high in the summer. They do a good job.
I had a pretty good slope in the area I cleared for my shop (at least 15' over a 200' distance). We cut into the hillside enough to create a smooth grade 30' behind the shop and used the dirt to level out the parking area in front of the shop. The slab was all on the cut grade, no fill. We...
Thanks! I've done a handful of track days there, but it was really burned into my mind in a couple 24 hour Chump Car races. The night racing was pretty awesome.
Also, for anybody interesting in racing carnage, I did manage to rear-end/PIT maneuver a Subaru at the NJMP race on accident. The action is around 14:00 into this video. Thankfully, the closing speed was pretty low so there was no real damage other than a chip out of the front bumper and the...
Thanks, guys. We managed to get the Porssat back out this past weekend with a larger radiator and fan. It stayed cool (under 200 degrees) despite being in the upper 80s outside. I don't think we'll have any more cooling problems in New Hampshire. Here is a video of my fastest lap around VIR...
I just bought a parts washer and got a drum of Oil Eater the last time Zoro had a 25% off sale. Came out to $6/gal shipped. I have been using it in spray bottles for a while and it works well, looking forward to refurbing this parts washer and having a tank full of it.
Re: Max Jack's vs quick jacks
I'd either get a full-rise 2 post (would this fit?) or the quick jacks. I'm personally not a fan of the Max Jax - it's too big to be portable, and no one I've known that had one ever moved the columns after installing it, making a full-sized 2 post more useful.
Here's the layout I used. It's 32x80 - bays 1 and 2 are the auto workshop. There is a full height wall separating them from the rest of the garage. Bay 3 is the planned wood shop with storage above and bay 4 is car storage. I wanted to make sure I had access to all vehicles without having to...
I guess it could also just be trapping moisture. I've got a thermostat with a humidity sensor on that - I'll throw it in there.
I've got some two part urethanes in there. Something corrosive would explain the amount of rust I found, for sure.
I may just go back to open shelving - the fridge...
