    i learned on a lincoln with .045 i thinks its defiantly better to learn on a big machine to really see how to get good penetration. like sureshot said, once i learned on a big machine it taught me to never want to use flux core

    yea charcoal for the heat. lined the inside with aluminum foil then cover the seems with aluminum foil tape from home depot 5/8 all thread for the rack

    thanks guys, i think it was half a bottle of argon and about 5 1lbs spools of 4043 wire. millermatic with a spoolmatic gun, little awkward to hold, but welds nice when u get the hang of it

    One of my dump trucks with an aluminum body had some holes that needed to be patched. this i one of two aluminum bodies i have, usually i just gets some sheets, drill a few holes for plug welds and weld them in but i wanted to try some thing different thats supposed to last a little bit longer...
