2026 Garage Sale Thread (15th Annual)

Look at what they are charging for a brand new pair of those crimpers these day's. Anytime I find a good pair for next to nothing, often for less than $5 a piece I will always pick them up and any other T&B tools for that matter.

    Metco

I just found one of these and was surprised to discover how little there is online for this company. Definitely a great looking wrench. Reminds me of old MAC stuff.

Sadly it is just a cheap imitation. No name knife shaped object.

2026 Garage Sale Thread (15th Annual)

Stopped at a final day of a garage and everything was half off. The lady working the sale noticed me sifting through everything in a tote of random misc. stuff and offered me a grocery bag and told me to fill up the bag. I got everything for 50 cents total. I got so distracted with the 'junk'...

    Carbide burrs

That is a great idea. Everything pictured was how I acquired it and for what I paid I couldn't buy a single one at today's prices. I also have a pile of nice Greenfield HSS taps that unfortunately were stacked on top of each other in a small box without protection. All the time I come across...

    Carbide burrs

Is there a quick way to tell if carbide? Some of these were certainly used but a bit of everything with some appearing to be unused. I guess you can never tell about old stones. I know with bench grinders there is the ring test. What about 50+ year old stones unused in package? Likely still fine...

    Carbide burrs

Earlier this summer I picked up these burrs at an estate sale along with some other tools including a couple pneumatic die grinders. I don't know too much about these other than they are a single cut and many of them are marked 'HSS' so not the expensive carbide burrs. I am wondering about the...

Yep and fortunately none of the contents are etched like some of the other tools I bought from them. Owner engraved tools are a big turnoff for me in a lot of cases. It's so barbaric.

Just bought this Snap On tap and die set for $50 from a seller I bought from a couple months back. I was short of cash and time so I had left it behind but didn't forget about it. Lucky I messaged him as today as it was nearly listed on Markeplace for more and it being his final days before moving.

Had fun sifting through a few tools at a local sale. All tools a $1 a piece. Left a couple nice full polish wrenches I forgot to add to the keep pile. Proto Anti Slip, Professional, and Proto 500 series wrenches Anyone happen to recognize these crimping pliers / cutters? I believe these would...

Currently out of town (Alinc's turf) so I figured I would try to work some sales in. Picked up these very well used tools in a Craftsman tote for $25 Spotted this pretty looking Record number 6 hand plane and couldn't pass it up for $15.

Picked up a partial bucket of random sockets originally from a defunct auto/radiator shop and stored in a shed for several years. As expected some of these are a bit rough but still plenty of good useable tools. I figured it was worth a shot for $30. A good two thirds of the sockets are vintage...

    Bell system

I picked this one up on FB Marketplace today. It was advertised as a lineman cable splicer but I haven't found much on it yet. I have seen a couple other examples online using a later Proto ratchet. On the bottom there appears to be an Indiana Bell asset tag which covers the part number. In the...

2026 Garage Sale Thread (15th Annual)

Stopped at a couple sales this morning and got a few things. I've been purposely avoiding the sales lately with a lack of space and basement water/moisture issues which has had me relocating things into storage. Sale #2: A custom Bell System tool driven by a Plomb ratchet. I picked this one...

Funny, I was just going through some tools from sales past and just came across the same style Grip All pliers.
