What happens if heater is larger than needed

DONT DO IT. You will pay for a new right size hearter 3 times over in one seasons fuel. Made that mistake already. I have 35000 for 24X30x9 and it is still just a tad big

    draft inducer

The draft inducer on my richmond water heater is a little louder than usual. Any way to oil it or clean it out or is this just a throwaway part. Looks like a new motor is around $200. Water heater is about 7 years old

Suggestions for Digital Thermostat -w- adjustable offset

try turning down the fan speed. If its a 95% it should have taps to adjust it. probably wont help with short cycling, but it might quiet it down a little. If u can turn it down make sure you stay within the heat rise range

    Furnace Selection

my shop is 30x24 with 9' ceilings. I know its a little smaller than yours, but I hate to see a guy waste money. My old furnace sat about 18" off the ground and the duct work ran through the attic. duct work cost me about $200, and another $100 for the plenum. So between the high gas bills...

    Furnace Selection

WAY to big, I made that mistake years ago on a free furnace for my garage. Gas bills went from $150 to $400 because the oversized furnace cycled every few minutes. Spent more time heating up the flue than the garage. Now i have a 45000 hanging from the ceiling and the cycles are longer, it...

    Radiant Tube Heaters

Unless you have overhead doors on two different sides of the garage, open at the same time, with a good amount of wind, your not gonna loose a ton of heat with either type of heater. I have a 45k forced air hanging off the ceiling and when I pull in a car it only takes about 10 minutes to get...

    house heat

Im adding a 6" return duck going to outside fresh air, so i can afford to shrink that down if it helps. Plus I have about 500 cfm more of return than I do supply. And I can easilly make adjustments to either side of the system since my basement is unfinished

    house heat

One quick question about return air. Would it help to take return air off the floor or ceiling. Most of my return ducts are high with 1 large one closer to the floor. Was thinking about downsizing the larger one(about 16" x 10") thats about a foot off the floor. I know this will help for...

    Beacon Morris hanging heater problem/question

It might be the ignitor grounding out on the case. Had that problem with my beacon morris. Sounds like the same symptoms. Bend the ignightor housing just a touch to center it. Should clear up your problem.
