Looks good! Tried them out yet? I'm planning on buying a set of the normal lenght ones.

I can't even imagine how you found that . I was probably too focussed on an aluminium-coloured body. The only thing different is that it has no speed knob (or it's duct-taped off, hard to tell, because it has 2 speeds on the tag), and mine has 620W. But they're definitely very closely...

I don't get that Silex column comment . But thanks for keeping an eye out!

No the type tag is completely worn, the picture is as good as it gets. I 've been looking for a similar one on ebay, google,... for ages, but never found anything remotely similar :(

Looks like an interesting trip! Which screwdriver felt best to you? Does anyone know how old this Metabo is? It survived for 3 generations and I still use it if I need to drill in heavy steel, because it turns nice and slow. (It used to have a chest plate, but that's gone)

If any of you guys were wondering: apparently it's used for those splined nuts like you find in adjustable coilovers

Thanks for the tip! No lack of information on that subject it seems. Any of you guys know what this thing is? Google came up empty :p. It has an interesting spring loaded wheel which enables you to tighten it quickly.

If you only had $400 for tools what would you get?

Made me think of this; good source of inspiration. Adam savage is an absolute tool nut for those who didn't already know (from 5:15 onwards) or this if you don't want to listen for half an hour...

I used half a can of WD-40, beginning to soak those nuts 2 days before I did the actual work. Like I said I've been there a few times :p. But when I finally got the nuts off, the threads were still bone dry, only the first millimeter was penetrated. Are there any better penetrating fluids than...

    Metabo Angle Drill chuck removal

Usually there's a little (reverse threded!) screw on the inside of the chuck. Remove that one by turning clockwise. Next, put an allen wrench into the chuck, as you would with a drillbit and tap it loose with a hammer (normal thread, counter clockwise)

Thanks for the confirmation about the sockets! At the moment I only have one of these hobby style 24 liter compressors. even after I drain it, it doesn't take long before it spits out water again. So I was hoping if I drain it, use an air filter to get most/all of the vapor out and then reduce...

    Tools from the old world

Hi guys I'm new here, so let me just quickly introduce myself; I'm a 25 Year old, college student, home mechanic from Belgium. After spending an hour to remove a rusty bolt for the hundredth time something inside me cracked, and I bought this baby. It's a magnesium body, dual hammer Hazet...
