Looks like an interesting trip! Which screwdriver felt best to you?

that's a tough one, 6 months ago, but the second left I think looks like a Felo

I have sets of Felo,, PBSwiss, Stahlwille, Walter, and odd Hazets.
I like the Felo 500 best, the triple scalloped profile fits the fingers well, and the thumb sits in the curve to the ferrule land really well; The handles are easy enough to clean grease off, although In practice I have now kept them for woodwork exclusively. That is a sort of indication too of benefit of the grip ; 'natural' selection in action!
Wiha always feel like the main ridge/bump is too pronounced (for me).

The PB Swiss handle texture is very good, good grip results from the longitudinal grooves in the handle; good for oil and grease free jobs.
Stahlwille handles are ok, and buggers to get grease off.
Walters I keep in the office for electrical and house set.
The lower one, the stainless and blade rotates separately to the handle; used for titanium lock screws in spinal plates. Also demonstrates a 3 scallop profile, and given the application, this tells one something about design criteria. Note the Felo has a similar profiled handle; 3 scallops and flared lead in to the ferrule land.

Took a lot of time to solve this, but finally...

I can't even imagine how you found that . I was probably too focussed on an aluminium-coloured body. The only thing different is that it has no speed knob (or it's duct-taped off, hard to tell, because it has 2 speeds on the tag), and mine has 620W. But they're definitely very closely related, maybe mine is an earlier version because it has less power.
Is there any way of finding out the year they were built?

The PB Swiss handle texture is very good, good grip results from the longitudinal grooves in the handle; good for oil and grease free jobs.

The lower one, the stainless and blade rotates separately to the handle; used for titanium lock screws in spinal plates.

I have The Gedore's on the left right now, If you think about buying some...don't. They have quite soft tips, I have one PBswiss flathead and it's well worth the money.
Are you a surgeon? i thought they would use torx for more control. or safety torx, you never know when someone feels like doing some DIY ;)

I have to say I´m not impressed about this one. The gear stuck sometimes if you reverse and the bottom cover is ******* plastic...

That *****. And no way to open it I presume? I can't see any screws on the 1/4" and 3/8" N models. Nor have they repair sets listed. Stupid.

I have to chime in here:

Comparing Stahlwille to Facom is a fairly easy choice: A made in Germany tool vs. a made in Taiwan tool pretending to be french. Besides, I'm an old school kind of guy, so the Buck Rogers look of the Facoms doesn't do anything for me.

But Stahlwille vs. Hazet: that's harder. Owning sets of all types, I will try.

The Stahlwille 14 (long) vs. Hazet 600N (long) : Hazet wins. If you're working on a car with limited access, the 600N always seems to fit where the 14 won't. This is due to its larger offset. Working on other things, like motorcycles, it doesn't seem to be a problem.
but:
Stahlwille 13 (std. length) vs. the Hazet 603: The Stahlwille has the slight edge. The 13 seems to feel better to me.
Made in taiwan tool pretending to be french:D So the 440 is like a drag queen, right?:bounce:

Regarding the Stahlwille "N" ratchets, i discovered their standard ones as longer lasting than the Hazet ones (1/4") (Im the tool guy in a manufacturers race team) also the 1/2" N model is decent but the 3/8 and 1/4 ones loose big time against snap on... And I expected them to be a nice alternative...

I still would buy almost every of their tools without a doubt.

Ok,i sent a email to Kamasa some days ago regarding when the German made wrenches was made. Here is the answer i got:Tyvärr har vi inget svar att ge dig.
Enligt våra register har Kamasa Tools inte haft produktion i Tyskland. Or in english: sorry, but we dont have an answer for you, according to our archive Kamasa tools have never had any production in germany. So who knows when they were made. From my collection japanese kamasa screwdriver:

okay the fellas, i know i ask many questions but pay day is here on Friday and i want/need a new set of metric spanners so i am not wasting your time!, and there will be a set in my box come monday. i'm torn between this facom set http://www.primetools.co.uk/product/102616 this stahlwhile set http://www.primetools.co.uk/product/102148 and this toptul set http://www.vantagetools.co.uk/wrench-sets/3403-toptul-gaat1603.html also im interested in the bahco set iv mentioned in a previous post. my concerns are are the facom 440s too short for automotive work? the stahlwhile set seems a little incomplete, is the toptul set as good as the facoms? and are they longer? and finally im concerned the bhahcos look a little cheap any info or recommendations would be greatly apprciated
cheers fellas merb

a comparison pic:)

and another: the german premium brands vs. the US premium brand: :)

Went to Sweden on vacation and did some shopping while I was there. "Tool" store was located in Kalmar (as was Bauhaus, but that's a chain store, very similar inside to Home Depot).

Do you use the swivel socket wrenches often ?

Yes,i actually do,i do not always remember that i have them, but i like them more as time go by.I think it is a much better tool than the double flex joint wrenches. The 13mm is the pefect tool if you are remowing heat exchangers on a porsche 911(sorry no pics) the socket on the saltus wrench is quite short so it is usefull in tight areas.Maybe a saltus wrenh in action photo will come in the future:)

Do you like the weicon stripper monte? It looks similar to a knipex one I have. Once you have the technique worked out, they are fantastic and a lot faster than a cable knife.
