I also have a 16" ML. The two speed shifter has a placard that says to shift only at low speed. I took that as the saw needs to be at the slowest blade speed per setting and shifted while the saw is running. That is how I've always done it and it's worked well, with no resultant problems.
I am beginning the planning of a new shop, envisioned to be 60 x 80 x 20 high. What's the preferred method of framing? Welded or bolted and why?

Been lurking here off and on, waiting until I could pull the trigger on a ground up shop. Well that time is near and I have a few ideas on paper. Current thinking is an insulated steel building about 60 x 80 x 20' vertical.

Can't say anything more that hasn't been said already. Super nice project. I'm currently living in Drippin', near 12 and Fitzhugh. My shop renovation is starting now so I guess I'll need to start my own thread soon...
Been wrestling with sticky, grimy, drawer slides on an old Snap-On box I picked up a while back. Even my newest box (errmmm... ...if 12+ years in the shop can still be considered "new") is getting kinda sticky.
Any secret cleaning and lubing process that will smooth out my drawers?
Came across a deal a few years ago for this property south of Austin and I'm finally getting to a point where I can invest in some real improvements. Building was designed by previous owner to house motorhomes and as a weekend getaway. It was finished but never trimmed out inside.
