My FIL is a farmer and has a dedicated shop (which collects "Helluva Deals" or "Just had to haves")...but one day I was working on something and needed sheetrock screws...
He has used oil quart jugs on their side with the funnel piece cut off and labeled all from 1" to 4". Very convenient.
Found 5 alarm boxes on CL for 10 bucks! Picked them up yesterday, I was thinking they would be small, but they are about 12x18 or so.
The circuit boards are still in the boxes (brand new boxes) so I have to take them out but shouldn't be too hard.

I found an old bathroom vanity in nice shape on the side of the road for the garbage. decided to take out the mirror and replace it with pegboard....now it is where I keep all my screws, nails, etc., with screwdrivers on the front.
A wireless bridge will work. Some are better than others...I know some people who have their router in the basement and have a router on the 3rd floor and it works fine. We used to recommend these to people when I worked at a large electronics store, especially for PS3's and the like.
