    Delta 654 jointer knife fitment

Hi. I have an old Delta 654, and I’m having trouble finding knives for it. American National Knife makes a set listed as: 6-1/8 x 19/32 x 3/32 HSS planer blades Before ordering, I wanted to check if anyone has successfully used the 19/32 height on a Delta 654. I tried 5/8 height knives, and...

In need of tap and die set.

95/100 times, i'll be chasing threads (a term I learned 5 minutes ago). I have yet to get into metal fabrication.. but i'm sure it's a direction i'm heading

In need of tap and die set.

What got me looking in the first place is that I'm restoring a Delta jointer, and I was dumb and didn't tape off the threaded holes before painting. Someone mentioned that I could clean the threads up with the correct-sized taps, which I don't have—and there are probably four different thread...

In need of tap and die set.

Hi, I'm looking for a tap and die set. I'd like to stay under $100, and I'd rather buy a decent used set than a cheap new one. These look okay to me aside from a bit of surface rust, but I'm interested in hearing what you all think. Otherwise, open to suggestions. https://ebay.io/m/cN3r8M

    Bandsaw wheels out of plane

It's just the fancy term for a composite Nylon. Now that you've heard it, you'll start seeing the stamp on different plastic components

    Bandsaw wheels out of plane

Read a little bit about these. It is a very, very cool piece of equipment. Something that I'd love to have.. when I have a bigger shop. My garage is VERY small. I learn by taking things apart.. and breaking them. My endeavors here wont stop me from jumping at a better machine when one comes up...

    Bandsaw wheels out of plane

Despite best judgement, my stubborness has won out for now. I modeled a new blade guide in fusion360. 3d printing it in PA6-GF30.

    Bandsaw wheels out of plane

Yeah, I tend to over do it and break stuff in the process.. but reading more about the blade guides on these delta clones, it doesn't seem to take much to snap components. I'll be keeping an eye out for a new saw, but the price will have to be right.

    Bandsaw wheels out of plane

I ended up making a washer out of hardboard since I didnt have an actual washer that size. It actually brought the wheels fairly close to planar. Thats when I went on to snap basically every part of the upper blade guide.

    Bandsaw wheels out of plane

Still messing with my 14" Taiwanese delta clone bandsaw, following care and repair of shop machines by john white. I'm at this step (attached below) that has me aligning my wheels to the same plane, and shimming the top if they're out. The problem is that my top wheel is out SIGNIFICANTLY - 5mm...
