Laser Cutter/Engraver in an office space?

I don't have any pics right now but you can Google "Redsail X700." For cutting I mostly use 1/4" plywood and plexiglass. I can also engrave ceramic tiles and glass. Unfortunately it's not powerful enough to cut or engrave metal. No gas is needed but it does have an air nozzle to blow smoke...

Laser Cutter/Engraver in an office space?

I keep my 60 watt CO2 laser in my laundry room. You will definitely need to vent outside or install a proper filtration unit. As for the noise, the laser itself is fairly quiet. Most of the noise will come from the exhaust fan. In my case, it's about as loud as a medium sized garage fan.

    Moving a 20x40' Metal Garage

Hello, I have a 20x40x12 foot metal garage that I'd like to move from my father's property to my property approximately 15 miles away. It was originally moved to it's current location 18 years ago by a company that's no longer in business. They welded in a couple I-beams across the bottom to...

Gas powered air compressor. Harbor Freight

Does anybody have any experience with Harbor Freight's 30 gallon gas powered air compressor? I need a compressor with a higher cfm rating than I can get with a 110v unit and I can't run another 220v circuit to my detached garage. I'm curious to find out how well it takes to being left outdoors...

    Metalworking project for teenagers

I have two nephews ages 13 and 15 who have shown some interest in learning metalworking. My first project, many years ago, was a set of brass knuckles I made using files and a drill press. Unfortunately, if I let them make brass knuckles their mom has already threatened to beat me with...

    Cost of new service

I guess a little more background is in order. This is for overhead service from a pole 50 ft away in the alley behind my house. The POCO said they will run a line free of charge as long as the city signs off on the permit. I called the city permit office. My neighborhood is zoned for a...

    Cost of new service

I requested a quote from an electrical contractor to wire my detached garage for a new meter. He quoted me $1600 to install a 100 amp box, meter socket, ground, and handle the permits. Does this seem high to anyone?
