    JB's Garage

My life revolves around working with my hands, and I want a better "space" to get my projects done. My garage is very workable even with what I consider disorganization, but I know organization will make my life much easier. I put all kinds of stuff out to one side of the garage for sorting...

Nothing says happy FIRST anniversary like...

Gonna be hard to top her gift. I suppose I'm already in the negative, because she picked this up 2 weeks early and I have nothing. I am listening to every hint and gesture, I only wish my memory wasn't so terrible!

    Reclamation of MY Mancave

UPDATE: I picked up a harbor freight cab today. l wanted one of these for a couple years (tight with money), and I finally bought one. I moved the craftsman box from the back wall of the garage beside the new HF box after I took this picture. The "pile" in the garage was probably cut by 40%. My...

Nothing says happy FIRST anniversary like...

A shiny new cabinet from Harbor Freight. I am like a little boy on Christmas day. What a fine woman... I'm not trying to brag, I'm just very joyful and need to tell a few people ;).

    Reclamation of MY Mancave

I just discovered that I have major issues with disorganization, a recent chaotic life will do that. Apparently everything in my life needs detailed structure, how I didn't pick up on this before, I don't know. It's like a light bulb just came on. I am grumpy, tired, depressed, and unmotivated...

Car A/C Drains out to Compressor Switch Minimum

Go to your parts store and pick up a can of R134a with the UV dye in it. Try to get one with a reusable gauges if possible. If you don't have a UV light or flash light, I suggest you pick one of those up too. Turn your car on, crank on full cool air and max ac, make sure you hear the clutch...

    hitachi micro 1/4" impact driver

I have both the impact and drill version, money well spent. Both are great for working in tight spaces, and I find I am grabbing for these more often than anything else. The power of the drill is so-so, but the impact is great.

The little one car that could

I'm glad the fold up bench idea worked out well for you! I like how you did the latch. Did you use a locking fence gate latch?

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT The 12-Gauge Garage

I like the idea. I don't have the placement of everything in your garage to memory, but I do believe you had little counter space and no storage under the current sink? I'm not sure I'm crazy about the curve, but once you get the counter trimmed and in place I think it will be pretty wicked. I...

    Hanging Tools from Particle Board

LOL, I don't have many pics on my PC other than the "married couple shots". I am set on using a shot of one of my C-130's. No more changes! ;) chief ben: I really like way you used the plywood there. Before I saw your pics, I thought the same thing about the screwdrivers. You just gave me some...

Creating cheap, smart, and useful multi-purpose garage...

10-4 ;) I did a photoshop pic of my garage while dealing with insomnia last night. (Hey, I was bored...lol). It is real close to scale, I painted over top a real image. This is what I want to accomplish with the back wall...

    Newbie's first garage

Congrats on the house buddy! I think you are on the right track with reusing the old stuff. Sometimes junk is junk, but most of the time it can be quite useful. Before you throw anything out, think hard about what you can use it for... For Example, the prior owner of my home left an old grill...

    Hanging Tools from Particle Board

I am looking for an alternative to pegboard. I don't like the traditional stuff at all, but the metal pegboards are pricey. I dropped $80 on a 64inx32in work area, I think I could do much better in the future. Moving right along... Recently, I was up at my father-in-law's body shop looking at...

The little one car that could

Congrats on the marriage and the house! I like your cabinet, nice use of space. I'm not big on tool boxes, so I will leave that one for somebody else. A few suggestions I have: Overhead cabinets: Build down one side maybe? Deep enough to fit some storage totes into. I have most of my power...
