Can someone wrap a tape measure around a Milwaukee M12 handle? Need circumference

I'm hoping someone out there can give me the circumference of the grip / handle on a Milwaukee M12 tool. I'm looking at getting some M12 tools for my mother, but she has small hands which gives her trouble gripping most cordless tools. The M12 series is supposed to be fairly compact, but I...

Best Advice Given, in a Single Sentence

If you are ever considering doing something, and the thought crosses your mind, "Instead of XYZ, maybe I should just ******** and go to bed..." the correct course of action is ALWAYS ******** and go to bed. There are few things in life that are absolutes - this is one of them. Your brain is...

Thoughts on Kimball Midwest (as a potential employer)

Just shot him a PM, thanks. The vending machines are a good idea, but in my experience they are never stocked or re-stocked properly. I've done my homework on pay, market, etc... The only thing I can't seem to draw a good bead on is the company itself. There is a fair amount of negative...

Thoughts on Kimball Midwest (as a potential employer)

I'm being fairly heavily recruited by maintenance supply company called Kimball Midwest. The job is outside sales for shop supplies, tools, etc... I'd be interested in the collective opinion of the company from the Garage Journal crew. Thanks.

How did you unload your lift

Mine shipped to a freight depot. I have an open car trailer that I pull behind a Chevy 1/2 ton truck. The depot used a forklift to put the lift on my trailer. When I got home, I picked up the lift with my cherry picker, and then pulled the trailer out from under it. While it was still...

    garage plans

I never thought I would need three phase 220, but now I do. My main work bench is fixed to a wall with cabinets underneath. It is 24 inches wide by 16 feet long. I should have gone 30 inches wide.

Work shoe that doesn't look stupid with shorts?

I like the Redwing 6640. I just saw that they are made in China... Ugh, I hate buying stuff from there. The Mechanix wear pit shoes look like they will fit the bill as well. Thanks!

Work shoe that doesn't look stupid with shorts?

I've done the boot thing, I worked for a residnetial construction company for several years. They are comfortable, but they are heavy and they are hot. The shop that I work at specializes in horse power generation on late model vehicles (www.rpmmotorsportsnc.com) and, I need to be able to...

    When building a shop/garage........

Also, one of the only things in my life that I have no buyers remorse on is my Atlas 9000 lb lift. It seems like everything big that I buy, there's a part of me that wonders if I made the best decision: Big screen TV? Yep, small part of me wonders if that was the best move. Corvette, same...

    When building a shop/garage........

3 phase power is something I wish I would have done. My work bench is 24 inches wide by 16 feet long. I did that because it was a single 4 x 8 sheet of bench top material ripped in half. I should have spent the money on a little more material and gone 30 inches wide.

Work shoe that doesn't look stupid with shorts?

I don't do much welding or fab work, but I do work in a shop with a concrete floor that I stand on all day. Most of the guys in the shop (myself included) just wear some kind of tennis shoe. Nike, Under Armor, etc... Something that is comfortable to stand in for 8-10 hours at a stretch...

Compressor inlet temperature VS discharge temperature, anyone got the math?

In the interest of full disclosure, what I am thinking of doing is climate controlling the air compressor shed. I've been through 2 motors on the compressor since it the summer heat started here in NC. I'm not sure that the heat has anything to do with the failures, but thus far the rise in...
