Honestly I never had an issue. The majority of parts were identical to the cast model. In my case the parts I needed were completely out of production so I was desperate. But my tolerances were not critical in most cases.

For those broken parts I had a great neighbor who happen to be a sculptor and dealt in bronze and had his own foundry at home. He was able to reproduce many small, and a few large, parts for me that were no longer made by using the broken pieces...

Find a local gun safe dealer and see who he uses to deliver and move his products. They can handle this with ease. I used this approach to move some really heavy equipment and they were very versed in heavy and easy to tip hazards.

I bet the reason the weld "failed" was because someone severely overloaded the ramp at some time and the stress broke the weld over time. Should not be too difficult a repair. Hang a come along off the ends and pull it back into place after...

Have you considered suspending the handrails from the ceiling rather than attaching to the stairs to retain their independence? It seems the whole point here was to highlight the stairs being independent of any support structures.
