    Rockwell 25-100 Lathe Resto

One thing you can do with the drum switch is run the low voltage for the VFD direction through the drum switch, that way you can use the drum switch to switch forward and reverse like it was originally used for.

    Wilton freebie

Hopefully, the wife bought me a sandblasting cabinet, she'd love to see me actually use it. But the vise works, so I'll bolt it to the bench and use it to restore my grandfather's Cletrac crawler.

Low cost LED or T5 fixtures?

I have 14 of the Costco LED's in my 26x36 shop. I love them, they are pretty bright and should be brighter when I paint the walls white. Best upgrade I did in there. I think each one draws .4 amps so I am pulling around 6 amps. Instant on in the winter too. I am buying 7 more to line down...

    AR51 Buggy Build

Looks like a knockoff of these guys. I've had their plans for over 10 years but life has never given me time to start one. http://www.theedgeproducts.com/Categories/Sidewinder

Big boy Air compressor build HELP?

Do an eBay search for Nema size 2 starter. That's what you need for a 10 horse single phase motor.

    Galvanising chassis and painting experience?

Just so you know, here at the plant where I work we galvanize the poles we make. We use PL400 construction glue on threads to protect from galvanizing. Anything under 1" and you put it on the threads of a bolt and put the bolt in the hole. Anything over 1" and you smear it on the threads real...

    Theoretical question

I was looking to make about 40' of the building into a living area. 20' sidewall gives me plenty of space for two stories. I have a shop with 12' walls now and it feels short. I am also looking for a used crane to put in. You can never really go too tall or too big. I have large (50' tall)...

    Theoretical question

It was built in 1953. Its all 2"x8"x20's, 1"x12"x20's, and 2"x12"x20'. Perfect for a more modern shop. Completely useless where and how it sits.

    Lift in short garage?

I put one up that was 4" taller that the bottom rafter. I cut 4" off the uprights and took out 8 links on each chain. Worked fine.

    Theoretical question

I have a huge barn currently sitting empty and useless due to location on my acreage. The ceiling is framed with 20 foot long 2x8's. Has anyone ever heard of stickbuilding a shop with 20' sidewalls made of 2x8's? I was thinking 40' x 100' x 20'. Feel free to tear this idea apart. :lol_hitti

    Question about lights

Yes 3ph, all have bulbs and all have the add on motion sensor. They are not multiple voltage. Looks like I'm going to grab them. Thanks.

    Question about lights

Finally I have a question I cannot find an answer to. I have the opportunity to get 12 T5HO light fixtures from work for free. They are 480v and have 6 bulbs per fixture. I only have 240V single phase at home but I am building a small rotary phase converter to power a mill I may also be...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Shortened my new to me 2 post lift and got the posts stood up. It sucked doing it alone with only a skidloader. Disregard the mess, I am shooting for messiest shop of the year.
