I have a BIG Problem with my Water Well!

Have water delivered for a few days or a week and give the well a brief vacation. When you start using it again see if it still acting up or not. This will help you tell if it is the pump or the well. If giving the well a break helps, you most likely have well "recharging" problems and not...

    Automotive Battery Charger Suggestions?

SMKS -- Do you actually own one? I bought one several years ago . . . I was very disappointed in the way it was put together (I ended up changing some screws/bolts to keep the top on). The unit itself has been okay (it has worked but has not seen hard use) but the clamps are undersized (really...

    Floor Jack Identification (again)

So I have my dads old floor jack (probably bought in the 1980's maybe the early 90's). It hasn't been used in years and doesn't work now. Barely pumps up at all and won't support any weight. Also seems to be leaking. I am trying to find out what it is and if it worth fixing. I hate junking...

    Sheet metal bender.

Add me to the list if anyone makes a "kit for these (depending on price). I have been wanting a brake but have been putting off making one and haven't been happy with the prices I have seen for buying one (yeah, I'm cheap). j

    How Do You Know?

Since a friend started me using Guard Dog brand I haven't used anything else unless I had too. I'm sure there are other good brands out there but I know these have been good to me (Ace Hardware here has them). Not sure I've had one break, rarely do the heads strip out (usually user error)...

Selling These Snap-On Boxes on CL - Am I Out to Lunch?

If you were a bit closer and the price a bit lower I would be interested. I think that top box matches the one my dad used to have and would be nice to have a similar one. j

    wierd tool or vacuum?

Uuuum. The sticker on it says "Vacuum Cleaner". If it is too big for your uses find a local woodworker. I am sure they would buy it. Sad the things people throw away. j

Copper Sulphate, so far so good

I'm working on something similar. Won't have any pics for a couple of weeks though. I like the way yours turned out, it gives me hope for my project. Nice mottling. I'm curious if yours will continue to change as it cures. j

    Concrete Hardener and Chamfer

So I have 4 anchor pots and a floor drain. None are quite level with the floor so I want to chamfer them to make them look better (and maybe minimizing chipping later). New concrete, 30 days old, cured under plastic with tons of water. I plan to DIY copper stain. I was going to chamfer...

Oily liquid/water seeping up through floor

If you have a college close by see if you can talk to a chemist or environmental biology professor. Depending on how busy they are they may be able to do some rudimentary analysis or at least give you some informed guidance. It is probably something silly, but good to be sure. j

    CS-309, HAIC etc.

dcs -- Yeah I think about all the stuff I have helped pour over the years and some of it got watered but that was about it. I guess the big difference is I am paying for this and want to make sure it lasts as long as I do. Good to know about the plastic leaving lines. I don't think that will...

    CS-309, HAIC etc.

I understand curing. Not sure I can get sprinkler coverage for 1600 sq ft. I figure I can mist it with a hose 2-3 times a day but that is about the best I could do. I figured I would do that as well as a curing agent so the curing agent would help between waterings. I'm not trying to get a...
