    Progress of shop pics

This is exactly what I have been pondering doing in the near future- thanks much for posting your new space- it only reinforces how much I thought I would love the concept! I am considering living in mine, though, if I pull the trigger and build it one day. I thought it would be great to have...

For those with fuel injector testing & cleaning machines...

IATN = International Auto Tech Network ASNU = English manufacturer/supplier of fuel injectors and injector calibration/flow testing machines

For those with fuel injector testing & cleaning machines...

Thanks for the tip. I never would have thought of the IATN, since I do not run my little shop as a business. Never bothered to go after any ASE certs back when I was part owner of a shop (long story), so I tend to stay away from the "pro" forums, despite likely being capable and knowledgeable...

For those with fuel injector testing & cleaning machines...

For those of you that have a fuel injector testing and cleaning machine/calibrator/whatever you want to call them, can anyone tell me if it is safe to keep flammable calibration fluid (in my case ASNU Flow-Rite) in the machine's reservoir in between uses, provided the purge valve to the glass...

FOMOCO Vintage OTC tools - information needed

If any of them happen to be ones shared with Mazda, I can probably help out with identifying their original intended model and application. I'll try to remember to check in tomorrow and see if you have posted any part numbers, then try to cross them over to my SSTs, SST lists, catalogs, etc. Neal.

    The Bimmer Basement

OK... that literally takes the cake! I don't know your wife at all, but for your sake, don't ever screw that up! Congrats on the wedding, the new space, and hopefully countless years of happiness!

What color to paint shop machines

FWIW, a few things I would suggest you keep in mind, especially if they are not already on your radar: 1) While color choices need to be aesthetically pleasing to the owner, since you are the one that will be spending copious amounts of time in your shop, ask yourself this question from the...

Sun test equipment SX-209. What was this thing used for?

+1 to all above- it's for diagnosing inline amp draw by the starter motor during start-up.

    Sun Scope Free!

Correction: Another CL seller flake (surprise, surprise)... have not heard from him since Tuesday.

    Sun Scope Free!

Well, everyone, it will be saved. I am in touch with the owner and will likely be picking it up this weekend. (Sorry I didn't wait to hear back from you Bill... I didn't want to wait and risk a CL scrapper to get ahead of one of us on it.)

    Sun Scope Free!

HERE! I'm in Greenville- would love to add it to my other Sun machines! Should I email the CL ad poster, or deal with you Bill? Neal.

$11k for trusses?!?!?! Time for rafters...to save 8k??$

What about supporting the ties closer to their ends, where they tie into the rafters, rather than in the center? From what you said, that would give you somewhere around 30' of unobstructed space between the two rows of support posts... right? I'm not an engineer, and still only on my first cup...

WEN Drill Press - motor hum but won't spin

FWIW, I had a very similar issue not that long ago, albeit on a starter motor. Turned out to be part of the field magnet had cracked and a rather large chunk of it was dislodged (likely from being dropped). When power was applied, the loose piece was attracted to both the motor housing and the...

old drill press bearing replacement, help?

If the shaft is hollow, FrankLee has the solution. I too would install one of the bearings on the shaft, though only just (not necessarily pressed on all the way to its final resting place). Threaded rod long enough to extend past the top and bottom of the shaft, with plenty of extra length to...
