Your right about it being a pain. I had to remove the left axle on my 08 and couldn't get it with a pry bar. Pulled out the factory service manual and it says use a slide hammer with a hook attachment. Those ball joints are also a pain to remove. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

You need to make sure to put a vapor barrier between the drywall and insulation. That will mitigate any air movement and is usually required by code anyways Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
