    Black & Decker Workmate

I wanted one ever since the Bob Lilly commercial where he would give his Workmate Sunday off (picture him putting his feet up on the Workmate while he watched the Cowboys game). Finally bought a 300 in '89. Somewhere along the line, I added a 400. Done a zillion projects with them.

Anyone know of a 2 post lift with a TALL lifting height?

Finally got to see a Rotary SPO15 in person. From the floor to the bottom of the arm was about 73.5". Definitely not what I'm looking for. Now, if I was running pickups with 22" between the ground and frame, this lift would work out great.

TJIs vs floor trusses vs attic trusses for gambrel roof

The plan I posted has a steel beam running the length of the garage (it is what the posts are supporting) but it sure isn't 18" high (I'm sure the 18" is what gives your beam its extra strength). Are the 2X10s the steel company mounted to the main beam also steel? Do they fit into the side of...

TJIs vs floor trusses vs attic trusses for gambrel roof

What I posted is the plan that is currently ******* in court. I have always told the architect I was going to use poured walls but he has made all versions of the plans showing block. I figure he thinks I'll change my mind when it comes time to actually pay somebody to pour but the estimates...

A side view of my proposed garage can be seen here: Garage side view Ignore the background building.

TJIs vs floor trusses vs attic trusses for gambrel roof

My garage plans are currently ******* in court. I'm currently sorta reworking the plans to try to cut a deal. While doing this, I noticed my architect has center posts on the first floor which is something I didn't want. He said he did this to keep things cheaper but it isn't cheaper to me...

Work on the 74 x 30 5-bay garage has begun!!!!

Just want to make sure that I got this right. Your first floor has no support posts since you are using Free-span TJIs? If so, what is the spacing on the TJIs?

"Denied" at Variance Hearing - Detached Garage too tall.

Don't know what his exact situation would be but in my case, I don't get a jury trial. My suit went straight to a judge. So far, the zoning inspector shot me down in January. I got a lawyer. We put together a different building plan. Zoning inspector shot me down again. I lost at BZA in...

    Building on sloped land

Flattening things out isn't much of an option for me. Playing with the grade would run me into problems with the county because of drainage issues. Making the ground level would run me into problems with the township because they would make me shorten my proposed garage.

    Building on sloped land

Been trying to avoid stick built this whole project but now I don't seem to have much choice.

    Building on sloped land

I need to build a garage into a slight slope. Ground is around 2' higher at the back versus the front. Garage ceiling will be 12'. Topping off with gambrel roof for attic. Was planning on using poured concrete for walls but $ situation has changed (gotta spend some on another project). Is...

    Alternative Water Source for Garage

The reason the regulations ban water from any source during a drought is the water police don't want to have to figure out where the water is coming from. If they come down your street and see the sprinklers running, they don't exactly have search warrant powers to see whether your hose is...

Anyone know of a 2 post lift with a TALL lifting height?

71" is what I was expecting. I figured the advertised '78"' included the 7" adapter and the advertised '81"' included the 10 1/4" adapter. Thank you very much for the info. I had penciled in the S15i for my new garage but now I know it isn't high enough. Looks like I'll have to get Worth or...

Anyone know of a 2 post lift with a TALL lifting height?

From looking at Rotary's brochure, I get the feeling that their lifts don't really go as high as somebody else's 79" lift. Brand A says it has a lifting height of 79". Rotary says it has a "rise" of 81". You look at Rotary's explanation of "rise" to find out that this figure is gotten with...
