It really doesn't take that long to learn to use the files, Oregon makes a nice file guide to make it even easier. That's how I do my chain and I can have it back to razor sharp in about 10 minuets or so.
I tried planning it out as best I could but the inside dimensions of my garage just wont work, it's 23 feet and a few inches square so custom lengths are a must.

I've had a Miller Pro-Hobby for a few years and love it. They aren't to expensive, but they are auto darkening and use 2 arc sensors which is plenty for general work.
Very usefull, it may not sound like much, but it is enough to get your hand away from a wheel or rim when torquing lug nuts or just sneak it through a small opening to get to a hard to reach bolt.
I got my KRA2411 on student discount and I couldn't be happier with it. I'll admit it felt a bit flimsy at first but once I loaded all my tools into it, it was solid.
I have had a 2135timax for about a year now and love it. I have been using it in a tire shop and it removes even the most stubborn and rusted nuts. The Snap On is nice and a little more powerful but it gets heavy pretty quickly.
