Over the years I've found all sorts of sockes and wrenches and what nots while doing auto repair. I've found sockets with initials of someone I knew that worked and another shop and returned them, I had them brought back to me also.

dollar store, cheap plastic cutting boards. hard plastic slides on most every thing. I keep 10-15 on hand for such tasks. I moved my South Bend 13X42 by myself using cutting boards and didn't brake a sweat.
