    sizing service wires

new updates.. so the city signed the meter release form. i called up the project manager to schedule the disconnect/reconnect. and he wants only one riser!!! i guess it depends on who you get, because there are lots of homes in the area ( on my street) with 2 risers to two meter panels. so...

    sizing service wires

so is it possible to install 2/0 wires to service 2 meters with load calcs? currently the 2nd unit is provided on a 60A breaker, with a main service size of 100A. so I know for sure the load will be under 200A. but happens when things are added in the future? say the new load calc will be 250A...

yes.. you can call it a duplex building. currently one meter combo (zinsco 100A) at the front corner of the house, no room there to install two new meter combos, so installing in a new location.

    sizing service wires

and to complicate this a little more.. i already purchased the two - 2" RMC pipes. and the 2/0 CU wire (i can't return) the RMC i can return, assuming I need a bigger pipe if i did the 1 riser approach. i purchased the items after talking to the city inspector desk. they said they will give me...

Can you guys help me select the correct wires for my 2 panel with 2 risers? the 2 panels are 200A each. here are the loads for each panel. Panel A: 2 bedroom, 1 bath detached unit electrical stove, future car charger lighting, outlets, very little load Panel B: 4 bedroom, 2 bath electric...

two new service panels - ? on branch circuits

the city inspectors said i need to use clamps for each cable if using NM cables. to use the conduit sleeve, i would need to buy wires for conduit use and install a pull can to change to NM wires. i think i will drill some holes for the clamps and just run the NM cables direct to the panel.

two new service panels - ? on branch circuits

two new service panels - ? on branch circuits

thanks every one for your input. so the way i was planning to do it would be wrong. i was going to use one continuous wire from rod to rod, then up to the first panel, exit the first panel and then into the 2nd panel. but what you all are saying is that each panel needs it's own run to the...

two new service panels - ? on branch circuits

i was not planning to use any conduit, i was planning to knock out the hole (highlighted in green in the attached photo) of the back panel and use a conduit ****** to feed the wires inside the stud bay and into the crawl space. inside the crawl space is where i will have a splice box to pull all...

two new service panels - ? on branch circuits

i'm installing two new service meter combo panels and have a question regarding the entrance of the branch wires. is it required to use a clamp to hold the wires going into the panels? i was thinking of using a 2" conduit ****** and then feed all the branch wires through it. also for the ground...
