Obvious tool hacks that you never thought of

And you can always slip a pipe over that breaker bar if it's still not quite long enough...

    Will they ever learn?

Have you seen the (relatively) new Festool cordless table saw? It's a tiny little portable slider: https://www.festoolusa.com/products/sawing/table-saw/576821---csc-sys-50-us

    Will they ever learn?

It seems like the right tool for the job would be a laminate cutter, like this: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Brutus-13-in-Wide-Laminate-Engineered-Wood-and-Vinyl-Flooring-Cutter/1002746748. Or you know, like the thing they have their power strip sitting on.

How to Measure for 8pt Socket

A 12 point socket is two hexagons offset by 15°. If those two hexagons are inscribed in a circle, a square also inscribed in that circle will fit in the 12-point shape. Neglecting rounded corners and whatnot, a hexagon inscribed in a circle with diameter D will have a distance across flats of...

    Lifetime of 10mm Sockets, lol.

It's only 10 pieces and it's $30, but this might be what you're looking for: https://www.zoro.com/i/G7056659

    Whats your favorite screwdriver handle?

My personal favorite is the Proto Duratek: And I've only got a couple, but these Bahco handles are one of my favorites for awkward positions where I can't get a full grip:

Snap-On Flank Drive Plus Adjustable Wrenches?

I'm curious too @joel63 (and also not an HVAC guy). Should he not be taking the cap off without gauges hooked up to the ports?

Sets that don’t match. Does it bother you?

KD and Allen combo wrenches, I'm guessing you were buying from Cripe Distributing when you put that together?

    MAC Tools adjustable wrenches

Thanks guys for pointing out Proxene as the OE on some of these. I'd noticed recently that the new Westward adjustables on Grainger/Zoro looked like the new Protos and thought they might be worth checking out, but I couldn't figure out who was making them. Proxene seems likely: Westward...

Making tools, part of a well rounded college education

I got my ME degree at Ohio State too, we didn't make anything as cool as that hammer, but had a great student machine shop that was always available for us to use on projects. I'm not a good machinist or welder, but it's good to have at least done a little of those things so you understand what...

Craftsman wrench set on ebay for $2500?

If you do an ebay search and click "advanced" you can filter by sold listings. This way you can see what people have actually paid for things. I can take a **** in a coffee can and list if for $1000 but that doesn't mean anything unless somebody buys it.

    Angle grinder 1/4" collet adapter?

What are you going to do with it? Most of the tools shown in the pictures would be terrifying to use freehand, but I suppose using a burr in it could be sane.

    Dremel sanding discs..silly question maybe?

I haven't used them, but do these EZ-lock ones solve your problem? https://www.mscdirect.com/product/details/65498347 You'd have to buy one of the fancy mandrels: https://www.dremel.com/au/en/p/ez-lock-mandrel-2615e402ae
