    ID this floor jack please

Wondering if anyone knows what this floor jack make is? I got it for dirt cheap and it leaks a lot. I'd like to rebuild if possible but wondered if someone knew what it was (manufacturer, model, rating etc.). all I can find is a "TY" on the bottom of the jack that is cast in.

Condolences Gregor, sounds like you had a great mentor and teacher in your dad. It's amazing how fathers in some circumstances can entirely shape your character, thinking and values. I certainly consider my father the greatest of friends, mentors, teacher and confidant. I am lucky to have...

    The Atomic Shop...

Excellent stuff Ryan, Lista is top notch stuff. For those in the market also don't be shy to check out Rousseau Metal, I chose them for my build - same configurations, options, quality as Lista (in my opinion) and was available locally to me (Vancouver, Canada, made in Canada as well!). The...

My latest progress. I backfilled behind my retention wall and built some stairs and put up a temporary fence from wire mesh. We like the mesh, so going to draw inspiration from this and probably go for a welded wire fence as permanent. You can see the tool room is clad and refinished from the...

Thanks! I've read through your build a while back, you've got an amazing space as well and a bittersweet story, nice to see you've made it work so great. I think plywood is great - I've used what they call "factory grade" 1/2" - one good side and much cheaper than "one good side 1/2" you...

Lastly, here is the latest progress on the inside. Toolroom basically finished (at least ready to work), all new lights wired in, 100 amp panel upgrade and air lines installed in the critical places. Loving the space and as you can see, I've decided to pull out most of my frequently used tools...

You are absolutley right. I removed about 6 truckloads of dirt (mostly by hand) and build a retaining wall that is well beyond the garage wall. I did it this fall and since that time I've also poured a pad for an external (bear proof - we have lots of bears around here) garbage enclosure.

Here is a quick snapshot of my cabinet install in the tool room. I searched, planned and pined over these cabinets for months. They are a Rousseau brand (Canadian!) and are in my opinion on par with Lista (I actually prefer them, but don't want to start a war over this because it dosn't...

You are right, selling a mill is silly even if it is old and I don't use it as much as I should. I've started to actually rent more specialized tools (especially for home renos) as there is an awesome family run rental place near my house that I like to go to. I'm also lucky to have a few good...

Ha! I found in-progress ones. I sold to a fellow in Ohio before I moved back to Canada and I've been looking for it ever since.

Gregor! Thanks for looking me up in my little corner! I am really enjoying this forum and displays of craftsmanship here, such as yours. Thanks, here is one from when we bought it...err...now that I look at it, I've made it significantly worse on it's long journey to making it better of...

    Askania tool....what is this?

Folks. I found this in my garage years ago up in the rafters. It's an Askania brand who seem to make telescopes, watches and other scientific equipment. It's German and looks to be very high quality. Any ideas what it's used for originally? I was going to make it into a more usable small...

Nice work on the tool holders Gregor (and the house and the bike and the...). I am in the middle of just about every restoration/repair known to man right now (mid-century house, garage, Land Cruiser....) while running a corporate business and helping with my wife's awesome local business. So...
