I looked online, at pictures and kams1973 your correct.... it is a low oil level switch. The single phase magnetic starter that I'm using doesn't seem to have a place to wire it. is there a place I can wire it to? Thanks

I'm sorry, probably wasn't clear on my question. I am able to find a 3 HP motor with a VERY close RPM range. is that close enough OR do I actually need a 5 HP motor?

I need to replace my motor on my air compressor. currently I have a 5 HP 1750RPM motor but I can buy a 3 HP 1800RPM motor is the HP or RPM more important when replacing the motor? I am guessing the RPM, but need to be sure. Thank you,

Thanks for everyone's input. if I`m understanding the replies properly. as a rule of thumb I should be looking for a 5HP with at least 30 gallon tank. Thanks again
