Pole barn heater vent requirements

I have a 30 x 40 pole barn and purchased a 200k BTU
Beacon Morris hanging furnace for it

I am going to purchase the Natural Gas to Propane conversion kit since I only have propane where I live.

It has an 8" pipe coming out the back for a vent.
What are the venting requirements for it.
The guy I bought it from had it vented straight out the wall with a vent cap mounted to the wall outside. Maybe a total of 2 feet of vent pipe. But I am hearing that I need to vent thru the roof. Can anyone tell me what the real requirements are? I am only planning to use the heater 10 or 15 times per year when needing to work in the cold months.

Thanks for the help

Way too big for your building.

I don't know about the 200k btu heaters, but both of my 75k btu BM heaters vent through the wall.

One is a little older and uses "b vent".

Codes changed somewhere along the way and double wall (stainless?) is now required for through the wall venting, so that's what I used in the newer unit in the other shop.

Need a model number to find instructions.

Does it have a venter motor? If it's an 8 inch vent outlet I would bet it's gravity vented and need to be vented up and out the roof.

Heater is a bmf200s
Beacon Morris says that they no longer support the unit because it is 7 years old

As far as being too small
I had a 100k modine unit in the barn last year that would barely raise the temp 10 degrees and it was kinda a mild winter for us

But again
Any and all input is truly appreciated

•Is your building insulated
•What is your average winter temperature
•What size overhead door do you have
•How often is the door cycled when the heater is in use
•Are you maintaining a temperature or bringing it up to temperature from a freezing condition

If anyone has an installation manual or has installed one so that I can get the proper venting requirements it would be great

Thanks

I agree that it's probably oversized quite a bit but if your shop has minimal insulation, is leaky, etc. then it might not be too bad. If the shop is kept cold and then your looking to warm it up in a relatively short time then the larger size will be welcomed, the downside will be shorter run time and reduced comfort levels.

Well Beacon Morris was able to find a manual for the unit
I got lucky and transferred to Chris and she was relentless looking for the information for me.
