I watched some video of a mechanic reviewing either a m12 ratchet or impact and he was using swivel sockets. It was really impressive how much faster and easier he was able to work around the engine bay with the swivels. I'd definitely like to pick some up.
Those Astro sockets look nice, I'll...
I went with the 3/8 stubby because people were saying it was nice being able to use stubby impact sockets with it. Then I figured if/when I got the mid torque I'd have the best of both worlds.
But considering I'm just a hobbyist maybe I should have just went with the 1/2 stubby to avoid buying...
I ended up getting a 3/8 Stubby and Fuel 3/8 ratchet for $210 from Northern Tool.
Am I going to regret going with the 3/8 Stubby if for the most part I'm going to be using it for rotations right now? In the past, I've done suspension, exhaust and brake work on my car, but have not had the need...
Do you guys think the rubber boots are worth the price?
I just did my first DIY project with my new m12 fuel impact driver and already scratched it up... I know it's meant to be used and it's not a museum piece, but it still makes me sad lol...
Do they ever go on sale? They just seem so...
I like that one, but this https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M18-18-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Cordless-Compact-Vacuum-Tool-Only-0882-20/300510229 seems more useful.
How's the M18 compact vacuum?
I only have M12 tools right now, but I'm looking to get this once I get some tools from the M18 line.
Would it be good for cleaning my car and light cleaning around the house?
I haven't tried it yet as the battery is charging. Have you ever tried shaking your impact driver? or do only insane people like me try this?
Also, small world, I also live in Rockland :)
Hey guys, sorry for the newb question, but I just got my first impact driver and I'm wondering if this noise is normal when shaking the tool? I'm assuming the noise is coming from whatever is used to create the "impact".
I torque my evo lugs to 83 Ft/lbs, so I think I should be fine.
I was planning on eventually getting a Mid-torque, but not in the near future. I actually haven't been doing too much to my car lately, but I was hoping the stubby would be able to at least handle rusted exhaust bolts. I live in...
So is a 3/8" Stubby fine for removing lugs? I hear mixed answers.
I do DIY mechanic stuff, and I'm looking for something to use on lugs, suspension and exhaust components.
On BF, HD had that kit with a free 6.0Ah battery for $200. I unfortunately missed it.
About a week or two, I picked it up from Acme Tools w/ an extra free 2.0 Ah battery for $179. I think I would have rathered pay $200 and got the free 6 Ah, but I'm a light user so I don't know if I really need...
I'm wondering what's a better deal. This or the same combo you're talking about that I already ordered with an extra free 2 Ah battery (2 x 2Ah, 1 x 4Ah) for $179. People seem to complain about the hammer drill, but I would like a cordless drill.
I can see the $116 price with your store!
