Natural Gas vs Propane Pros & Cons

And while they're doing the install, I'd get them to run a hookup for a BBQ! (seriously)! Now there's some man cred!

    Wood and What Not...

Gorgeous for sure. I really admire true craftsmanship. Here is a link for the Studley tool chest. This guy was a piano maker who made his own chest, and he lives up to his name!

    Electric heat only-Ideas??

I got this one from Lowes: http://www.king-electric.com/prodtemp.asp?prodID=KBP About $250, works great, and I think it's actually made in the USA (shocker!). The other nice thing about it is you can vary the wattage, so you can kick it back if you're running out of juice. I live in the middle...

    NISSIN 3D Tube Bender

Why not automotive? Maybe not for exhaust, but maybe fluid lines for ******, p/s, etc? I assume it can do many sizes up to the max.

OK, Finally running power to the garage. What am I missing?

Yeah, white for neutral is usually the rule in Canada as well, that's the first time I've seen blue, and I've worked with a lot of different residential wiring types. I suspect that because as with most of Canada's industries, most stuff is made for export, it's maybe standard in other big...

OK, Finally running power to the garage. What am I missing?

I'm in Canada. Neutrals are usually white, as I'm sure is the case in the USA. The cable I used is called Teck cabling. It was originally designed for the mining industry in Canada. It is metal and plastic sheathed, rated for direct burial. Yeah, I was a little surprised too when the wife...

OK, Finally running power to the garage. What am I missing?

Are you referring to the main breaker, or a disconnect between the meter hub and panels? In my case, I have one feed from the utility, and two separate feeds to main panels (with main breaker, 1 200A 1 100A) for the house and detached garage (all permitted, inspected and legal):

Does your code allow a dual lug meter socket? If it does, and it's feasible, I'd do that. You free up the spot on the main breaker, and you can use the full 100A in your garage.

    15 amp versus 20 amp

Actually, what I did is went with split 15A circuits, you just use 14/3 instead of 14/2 (common neutral) and a 2-pole breaker, assuming MN code allows it. I don't know if you can so split 20A.
