    Walker Roll-a-car jack rebuild

It took me several weekends to take it apart and clean it. I would say 15 - 20 hrs maybe. To powder coat everything took a solid day (2 - 1/2 days). I took it completely apart, even had to grind off some of the rivets and drive them out. I saved them and reinstalled them then tack welded it...

    Walker Roll-a-car jack rebuild

Decided to rebuild the jack that has been in my family since the mid 40s. My dad held onto it since then and used it a lot over the years. It had seen better days but all the parts were there and everything worked mechanically. There was multiple layers of grease, oil, paint, and dirt since...

    Accessories for automatic gate opener

I have read several bad reviews on the mighty mules, I have been looking at the Estate opener sold by gatecrafters.com. Gate crafters have a remote for the house that will reach 1500', my house it about 400' away from the gate.

    Accessories for automatic gate opener

Thanks for the input. I was also wondering about delivery people, will need to address that it sounds like. The options I looked at was opener with remotes, detector for exit vehicles, keypad entry and a remote for the house. Sounds like I'm on the right path. I suppose I will call emergency...

I recently had a pipe fence installed across the front of my property along with a 14' gate at the driveway. I have looked at several different automatic openers. One thing I am trying to decide on is which of the accessories to get such as a keypad, vehicle sensor on the inside, electric...

Service size for new 30x40 shop

Well got the verdict from the POCO, cannot build the shop on top of the power line. I was hoping but part of me knew the answer. So I am going to rotate the building 90 deg. and move it parallel to the power line. They also said they have a 600 credit when an existing customer adds a meter...

Service size for new 30x40 shop

Thanks for the info guys. The new shop is directly in line of the power from the transformer to the house so it will probably be better to run a new line. I will call the power company tomorrow and find out more information. Will there be a problem if the building pad is on top of the...

Service size for new 30x40 shop

What is the biggest cost difference between 100amp and 200amp service? Is it the wire that is required from the transformer to the elec. cab. or is it the cost of the breakers etc in the cabinet? (sorry not very knowledgeable on electrical).

Service size for new 30x40 shop

I am starting a 30x40 shop and plan on hiring an electrican to rough in the electrical service and installing all of the electrical down the road sometime (when funds are available). I definitely will need 220V for my mig welder and plazma cutter, plan to have a lift, plenty of lights and plugs...

    Hello from Rhome TX

Been lurking around the board for the last several months getting ideas to have a new shop built. Tons of great ideas here. Decided I could afford a 30x40 metal building (custom built, not pre-engineered). Should break ground next week, weather pending. Need to decide on the color scheme, no...
