Decided to rebuild the jack that has been in my family since the mid 40s. My dad held onto it since then and used it a lot over the years. It had seen better days but all the parts were there and everything worked mechanically. There was multiple layers of grease, oil, paint, and dirt since the early 30s, which is when the jack was made, from what I can find. I could not find anything with the original color but I believe it was a blue of some sort. After I disassembled and degreased it I powdercoated everything with the help of a friend. The only thing I was not able to powdercoat was the handle, since it was too long to fit in the oven. I plan on painting it yellow and eventually powdercoating it once my friend builds a bigger oven.
I think it turned out really nice, so I thought I would share!
