Craftsman / Atlas M6-700 Taper Attachment

Since my birthday is coming up, I thought I would treat myself to a new toy for my Craftsman 101.21200 6" lathe. I didn't even know that made them for these lathes, but I do see it in a catalog from the 50's I know I could have made one, or bought an after-market one, but there is just...

    New Linley Jig Bore group

Thanks, and yes, I would admit I am a little OCD. Some thinks I have had a very long time, but most of the machines I have gotten within the past 5 years.

    New Linley Jig Bore group

Thanks, clean in those pictures, and my wife and I recently stripped and re-waxed the floor. Since my shop is in my basement, I keep things up so I do not drag chips through the house, but, it gets plenty dirty. Mostly been making parts to support the other machines, but I am also restoring a...

    New Linley Jig Bore group

Thanks, yes, the Benchmaster was already repainted, so I did not feel bad about painting it again. I would prefer to have the original paint, just because it shows it's life, but when they are really abused, what are you going to do.

    New Linley Jig Bore group

I finally finished the restoration of my Linley and got it down into my shop. I still need to make thumb screws for the X and Y axes and probably a belt guard, but I am happy with it. My brother-in-law gave me the Bridgeport #2 boring head, so that was a bonus! Below are some pictures, and I...

    New Linley Jig Bore group

Hey Guys, I have mentioned here that I had picked up a Linley Jig Bore in the spring, and have finally gotten around to starting the restoration. Since there is not much information on these great little machines, I thought I would start a Yahoo Group. If you have one of these machines, or...

New use for a Lisle Drill Grinder

My brother-in-law had given me a Lisle 91000 drill grinder that was pretty neglected. I was able to clean it up and make some modifications to make it more usable and wanted to share with everyone. The first mod was to drill out the pin that held in the drill holder and replace it with a...

    Linley Jig Bore information wanted

Doc, Actually you have that backwards, the earlier versions had dovetail ways, and the later ones switched to wider flat ways to use a different clamping methods because clamping on the gib could cause some slight movement. No, I am not using it for milling, I have a Benchmaster for that, and...

    Linley Jig Bore information wanted

I have a line on a Linley Jig Bore that does not have the power feed. Does anyone have any picture of the inside of one in case I decide to make one for it?

    Show us your arbor press!

Thanks Ken, I do use my tools, but I must admit, I do just go down to the shop to just look at them to!

    Show us your arbor press!

Picked this up from Craigslist, it is an Atlas Mandrel Press No. 0 I can not tell the actual date of it, but since Dake bought out the Atlas Press division in 1944, it would be before that. It had some rust so I repainted it, and the previous owner welded a plate to the ram, which I...
