First, I have to ask, what do you plan to do with the Linley? A jig bore is NOT a vertical mill- in fact, the early versions of the Linley (or so I'm told) don't even have what you'd consider mill style ways. As in the table just lays in the ways, with only gravity and the leadscrew keeping it from lifting.
Even the later ones with actual mill-style ways are really only suited for very, very light milling, as neither the leadscrews nor the spindle have bearings designed to take much side thrust.
My apologies if you already know all this.

But I've been asked about Linleys enough times, in the context of using them as or turning them into mills, that its kind of a reflex now.
