Post a picture of your ratchets!!

Digging up an old - but good - thread. USA on right, imports on left. Gotos are the CMAN thin profile, Proto 4749, and now the new Bahco (black/orange comfort handles). The HF rotos are pretty nice - they are the older chrome moly kind.

    Quick tool deal heads up....

While Fast LT1 wouldn't buy it, that has no bearing on the quality of the tool. I was remodeling a bathroom and did a complete tear-out. Thought something like this might be useful to remove old tile. Oh my gosh was this thing useful - from precision holes in drywall and subfloor to cutting...

Heres a heck of a deal.

I was just going to say that I run into 11mm on caliper bleeders - but why would you use a ratcheting wrench on that? I guess I don't really need an 11 gearwrench, then. But maybe I should update my flarenuts... As for the 7/16 idea: I don't have any SAE gearwrenches. I recently posted a...

Heres a heck of a deal.

You mean no 11mm? It looks like it has a 10. I have the metric part of that set - no 11, 16, or 19. Wish it had an 11. Rarely ever use 16. I have a 19 from another reversible set (but still no 11). 50 bux seems like a pretty good deal for that set, if you need 'em. Personally I like the...

    gearwrench

My FIL got me a set of metric ratcheting wrenches many years ago. He was farm raised and worked with his hands his whole life and I value his opinion on tools. He is the main reason that I have a CMAN box full of USA CMAN - when I bought them, he didn't say they were **** :). I was skeptical...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

freedomgli - I like the vise. I have an old columbian USA open screw, and new china CMAN pro. I like the CMAN pro more - it is very similar in design to your old one. But what I really want to know about is the Miata...

    Bicycle tools

I have a stand like that (performance spin doctor brand) and it works fine. I also have a cheap Nashbar tool set that also works fine. For hex, screwdrivers, and wrenches (non cone), I use my normal mechanic tools (CMAN/SK). The nashbar set is in a portable box so i could take it to races...

Craftsman Premium Grade 3/8 Ratchet $35

I am one of those CMAN guys - you know, the ones who have everything CMAN - from weedwacker/lawn tractor/tiller to workbench/boxes/cabinets. Until a few years ago, ALL of my tools were CMAN except for a few specialty items. I started my collection back in the late '80s and took domestic COO...

    Craftsman Professional Bench Vise

Wow is this thread old. I wasn't paying attention and started reading from the first page - figured I could add since I own one. I started reading a post and thought - wow, this guy has the same experience as me - then I saw that it was one of my posts from almost 2 years ago. Ha. Anyway...

    Least used drawer

I have one supercombo. It is a 19mm and it is very stout. I bought it to 'complete' a CMAN pro set (the old SK kind) - the supercombo is awesome but doesn't match the SK at all. The supercombo is great in the hand. Superrench is thin. Like the SK or a RP without the RP, if you know what I mean.

    Least used drawer

Ah - I did use one of those offsets to pull the spark plug on my chainsaw this spring! :). I do have a B&S lawn tractor but it is fairly new. I don't even need a tool to change the oil on it. What is wrong with these manufacturers - I WANT to use tools.

    Least used drawer

That same friend gave me a Superratchet. It made me wonder how many ratchets I own. I rounded up as many as I could think of in a short period of time. The USA stuff is on the right. I like 'em all. The CMAN thin profile 3/8 has the most use followed by the trusty Proto 4749. I have beat...

    Least used drawer

A buddy at work gave me an old Williams Superrench 1/2" combo. His dad worked at Williams for years when they had a plant in Buffalo, NY. I gave it a 'place of honor' in my SAE drawer. As I looked at the tools in that drawer, I realized than almost none of them had been used. It looks like...

Best deal on US made 1/4" and 3/8" socket sets??

Almost afraid to make this suggestion - but I will anyway. If I was going to get a complete set of SAE/Metric but wanted to save some money and just needed to get the job done - and I knew I was going to upgrade in the future, I would get the complete CMan Max Axess set. There is one that has...

    Hansen Trays

Maybe the Hansen are different than the Kobalt? If I moved those 1/4 trays around with what I do, I would be picking a lot of sockets off the floor. My sockets are pretty loose in the trays. I guess the Hansen have taller posts - that may be another advantage of them over the cheaper versions...
