    Concrete Filled Steel Post

Typically these are broken by cutting the steel post and a sharp whack with a sledge will break the concrete off clean at the cut. I wouldn't be surprised if a snap cutter did it all in one step. Most likely, the code requires the bollard to be there.

My 10x16 Workshop Shed: Scope creep, rain, an x-ray, and a bike

What a great build! I'm in need of a shed. Want to build one for me? :)

    Crawl Space to Garage...

If you wanted to remove that ledge in the back, what you need to do is dig out sections about 4' wide every 8' or so and then pour a new footer under there and pour or lay in a new wall up to the existing.. Then you move over and do it again, dig out a section 4' wide and pour a new footer and...

    Input ratings?

I ran into something like this on a job a few years ago ... took a while for me to get my head wrapped around it. Utility only had two phase conductors on the pole near the property. I had A, B, and G and C was missing. So, I could use A-B at x voltage, or A-G or B-G both at sqrt(3)*X voltage...

Before you buy a Chinese generator:

It was $324.39 shipped in 2006 according to my invoice. Item: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000GLGM5U/?tag=atomicindus08-20. They've changed the name now to Blue Max (and I could have sworn it was larger that 4KW) For the piece of junk it is, it's actually held up quite well... I didn't...

    recessed lights on exterior eaves

That sounds like a really cool idea! Do you have pictures of a house at night with them lit?

Before you buy a Chinese generator:

I have a Honda knock off ... Max Power, I think is the brand ... it runs just about everything I throw at it. Seems like most of the plastic parts have either broken or are ruined from gasoline (fogged up) Frequency and Voltage is fine. Sensitive items run through a double conversion UPS first...

Any one have a traffic light in their garage?

My traffic light has been sitting around for what seems like ever ... I need to just put it somewhere and hang it up. It's constantly in the way. When I wanted one, I had no idea how big they were!

    Garage Door Opener Mounting Locations

I wasn't able to install my opener on the side like Question because it would have placed the GDO bracket on the door side right over my glass. Bummer. I would have had to move it over 4' from the side which is 4' from the center, so putting it in the center seemed to make sense.

From 1923 Carriage Doors to 2012 Overhead Door

I was able to get the trim and siding done last weekend. It's supposed to be 70degrees tomorrow so I might be able to get the final coat on the trim.

Electrical install in a stand alone garage

You can do it all and we can help you do it right. Have you considered using a VFD for the phase converter? How many HP is the motor and is it 240 or 480?

    Junction Box?

OP, unless you upsize the wire, you're going to run into derating issues if you want to pull six circuits into a single conduit all the way back to the house. As a rule of thumb, you can generally put two circuits into the same raceway without derating. The JB will also have to be properly...

Last ditch effort basement watchdog pump/jumper cables running car

Two 50' extension cords? That's a lot of voltage drop! Did you evaporate the water with the hot cord or pump it out?

    Garage Wiring Advice

If you use a 2P GFCI breaker you can wire up a MWBC just fine. You will have common trip (not needed) and common disconnect (needed) on both circuits. Unfortunately a 1P 20A GFCI breaker costs about $70 and a 2P 20A GFCI breaker costs about $120. The savings to use a 2P GFCI breaker would...

    Possible Building trouble?

If you gripe about neighbors wires over your land, they have to move it. Mid span drops can also be used to alleviate the aerial trespassing.
