Look into "rectified" tile. It's manufactured very precisely which allows for tiny grout lines.

Yes I've seen several threads here on porcelain tiles used in garages. I'm not sure about installing on a new slab, curious myself to hear the answer.

I'll second Scotty's densifier suggestion. I treated my slab recently, it's easy to apply and doesn't break the bank.

Porcelain is extremely strong, and virtually impermeable. It seems like a good solution for a working garage/shop. Looks great too.

I think Star Deck is just a concrete overlay. The website is pretty vague, I can't find any lear info on what the stuff actually is.

What led you to choose Euco Diamond Hard over all the other densifiers?

This is my thinking as well. All of the surface coatings seem expensive and short lived. I just applied a densifier and moved on with my life.

All the literature I've read says that densifiers reduce dusting and increase resistance to abrasion and moisture intrusion.

I used used Legacy Industrial's HD36 and Liqui-Hard Ultra by W.R. Meadows. I can't really tell any difference, they both have minimal if any effect on the appearance of the concrete. I'm sure differences could be discerned through more scientific testing but most of us are just trying to get...

It's not a bad idea but I think you will need more support than just the foam. Maybe plywood on top, and then fasteners that go through the plywood and foam into the concrete.
