I am sure this has been asked before, after some research on epoxy floors, tile options and such, I have come to the conclusion that I am too poor to get a good quality job done, so I am willing to just clear out the garage one side at a time(2 car garage) and clean it as best as possible, there are no cracks in the floor, just some marking where they may have been tape put down by a previous owner or something and a couple of the typical huge oil stains on one side. What would you recommend is the best way to do a good cleaning. I am not expecting it to shine or it to look good, just...cleaner. Thanks so much for the suggestions.

Use a solvent on the oil stains then sprinkle a little Tide and wet it and broom it out the door. A little clean water and broom/squeegee out the door. Tide is a great cleaner.

Pour and Restore is a great product for getting out oil stains. I would use it on the major spots and then use a good degreaser over the entire floor. When the oil is gone then clean the floor with a Tide solution. If you can't afford to grind it then use the acid etching procedure after you have it clean.

Agreed. Pour N Restore is a much better option than degreasers alone.

It's possible to rent commercial type floor cleaners that spray a cleaning solution down in front of brushes that is then vacuumed up after the brushes pass over it. I rented a very small model called a Clark Vantage 13, but I think it was a little underpowered for unpolished concrete. It might have worked better if I had really lubed up the surface beforehand with soap and water. There were bigger models available but I needed one that could easily be lifted in and out of a pickup by myself.
