I'll second the dream setup comment. The privacy in the rear shop is great. With a tall fence you wouldn't even know it's there! Now don't tell us you have a tunnel between all three, that would be too much.
Seeing you have a few Rock Island vises around, do you have any info on the company or a link to some info on them?
I'm trying to find out when my 574 was made. I found some casting number while cleaning it up and would like to find out what they mean.
TIA
Hey guys,
I just picked up a Rock Island 574 and it looks like the swivel lock is seized. It has been soaking in pb blaster for a full day and will see if it comes loose tonight. Sounds dumb, but I just want to make sure I'm trying to turn it the right way haha. Lefty loosey right..

That looks ****. I've been wanting to do this to one of my benches. Just worried about strength.
Does it have plywood underneath or is it thick enough to standalone?
I figure ill be at 1,000 lbs. fully loaded so with 6 feet @ 500 lbs = 3,000 lbs. max load I'll be at 30% of max.

I'd venture to go the opposite route with 1/4' lip around the tube to leave room...

Clean table you have there.
How do you like those levelers? I was looking at those, but went with the rattle mount levelers since I will have 6 levelers/feet for an 8' bench.

This whole thread is a must read. Great looking robot welds! I hope to get there one day after I refine my MIG skills. Reading through GJ I see so many nice shops that look like a million dollars and have more machinery then one really needs, but they are missing the raw skill, soulful...
