I bought the 2235QTiMax and the impacting sounding kinda soft out of the box, but as I used it and it started spitting some of the grease out, it sounded and felt better.
Re: Masterforce 41" Combo or Homak H2Pro 41" Combo?? need your advice, Please!
I have a Homak box that I've used for a couple years in the shop. I've never seen a Masterforce in person so I can't tell you which is better, but I can say I have no complaints about my Homak.
It would actually work, I don't need to be moving the box around a lot. Too far though haha
I can get the Mac for $4200ish, but I'm pretty sure I can get the Snap-on even cheaper. Both the dealers in my area are good for deals, but the Mac guy is much more reliable.
Alright, so I'm starting to shop for a new toolbox to upgrade from my three piece Homak set. I'm looking at the Classic 78 with two wide drawers vs the new Mac Tech Series 50" also with two wide drawers (can't find part number, not in catalog yet I think). For quality and functionality, what...
Looks like the only difference between those two is graphing. Handy for watching o2 sensor warmup or MAP/MAF signals in response to engine speed. Lots of other uses too, it's just another option that can help you pinpoint the issue quicker.
For general home use, you only need a cheap code reader. If all you want to do is turn the check engine light off, buy that Autel one. If you want to read pre-1996 cars you'll need one that also reads OBD1 and you'll pay a little extra. Same thing with ABS or TCM (Transmission Control Module)...
For home I have the most basic Autel one. It scans (only tells you the code # then has a little book to tell you what the code is) and erases. It goes on sale for $25 in the stores near me. Works exactly as expected.
I've had the CP ones that are identical for a couple years. They get used every so often and I use them on an air impact. The only thing that's gone wrong for me was the sleeves will fall of, but I just glued them back on. Pretty good value I'd say.
If noise isn't an issue just get the IR 231, there's a reason those guns have been around for like 30 years.
I've used a CP 7748 daily in the shop doing my apprenticeship for three and a half years with no complaints. It's kind of a cheap gun but its kind of a cheap price soo :dunno: Just...
I have a Mac 3/8'' AW280Q which is an Aircat re-brand (dunno Aircat's number).
I've had it about three years, used to use it pretty well daily and seems pretty reliable. It really does have a lot of power. The only thing that kinda bugs me is the trigger feel.
