    School me on HILTI brand

Hilti tools are top quality. I would say they are the best on the professional market. The biggest problem with this is that the thieves know this as well. so much so that a lot of friends do away with the distinctive red cases and use generic ones instead. Especially if travelling from site to...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Having watched this thread since it started. I thought it was about time I put my old Record 75 on here. it has been in the family at least 70 years. it is a unbelievably handy tool with the anvil and conduit bender built in. My grandad always called it the mechanics vice. He originally fitted...

A couple of years ago I made a similar sort of thing out of an old Powered wheelchair. unfortunately I have no pictures. But they can be picked up pretty cheap and are dual motor with a joystick control which makes for easy steering. I strenthened the frame and fabricated and fitted a hitch...

Stacking Snap On KRA 3025 Roll cabinets

I had a company where we bought the fitters these toolboxs as time has gone on and I have now closed the company. I decided to keep them. I used them first in my office with a wooden worktop. It looked great but now I want to put them back in my workshop and want to make a floor to ceiling toolbox.

    "Pressure Toward Mediocrity"

I agree mediocrity is winning, even in schools the teaching seems to be levelled at the average student and not trying to bring the mediocre up to the brightest.

    Cement bag retaining wall

I had 10 ton of cement in bags left in the open air on a site in New york and due to a labour dispute we were not allowed on site for 5 months. When we did get there the bags had been left open to the elements and were rock hard, but they still came apart very easily. I think it would be better...

    Losing the fundamentals

What annoys me about the code reader is that the mechanic may see what the problem is straight away but will still use the reader because it is billable same as doctors running tests that are not necessary.
