I still remember when Fram used to tie a string around the filter media to hold it together. Looks like they havent improved much over the past few years. I use baldwin filters myself or Napa gold/Wix if Baldwin doesnt offer one for the application.

I will also say make it out of concrete. Asphalt wont hold up under the stress of the truck tires turning and sliding on it.

I have a Karcher thats about 15 years old an the only problem I had was the circuit board that controls the heater cracked an had to replace the hose a couple times. Other then those problems its been a great unit.

Not sure how thick your driveway is but I park my loaded rig (40 ton) on a 5" thick pad with rebar in it. The alley looks doable but personally I would want to come in from the other direction an blind side it in there but thats my 2 cents.
