DO NOT USE ANY OIL ON THE REGULATORS, OR TOOLS OR RAGS THAT HAVE OIL ON THEM!!! I also wash my hands before using my torches. Oxygen, obviously, is an oxidizer. Pure oxygen mixed with oil makes a violent and very hot fire.

You normally use a yield strength of 24ksi for A36 material. This is 67% of its yield, or a safety factor of approx. 1.5. Adding more verical bars will help. Double the number of bars cuts the stress in half. Old adage: When in doubt, go stout!
