Where I live in VA we have 2 Lowes in town..one store has completely switched to craftsman (no kobalt at all) and the other is about 1/2 and 1/2.
As far as them honoring the warranties, I've had customers (I work at Sears) tell me they have tried replacing at both locations and were told if...
I have over 100. Only 9 of them I actually use. Majority of all the other ones are old or ones I felt were cool. I have what my ol lady calls "an unhealthy obsession for ratchets". Lol!
Talking warranties is like talking politics imo....everbody thinks they are right and everybody who disagrees is wrong. It's really all about ones ethics and how one reads or perceives what the warranties say.
So it's got a "limited lifetime warranty" which you DO need the receipt for that type of warranty. It also only covers manufacturer defects. The bearings in the rails failing after 18+ years sounds like a ware and tare issue which is not covered. In all honestly you are lucky getting anything at...
The sockets are marked (H) as well (pic below..sorry it's a little blurry). The reason I was guessing the ratchet didn't actually go with the set is because the ratchet is just a little to big to fit in the case. Then again it could just be the wrong case for the set.
Hexen....yeah I about freaked out over that hammer! It brings back so many memories from getting yelled at for always losing the pieces to the one my dad had! Lol
Outlaw...yeah I've always known Weller for soldering tools too. Definitely was interesting to find out they had a sabre saw too.

I've seen things on the side of the road but have only turned around once to pick it up (it being a ratchet) it was gone.
I think it's kind of funny though that pretty much everyday, to and from work, I see about 4-6 storage buckets on the side of the road.
