Hey drive. You were correct my friend. I closed the vise all the way, took and wire brushed right behind main body and there it was. Very distinct 44 and if you look real hard on the left side , I believe it says 10, however not 100% sure. Thanks for the tip. Built right towards the end of the war.

Yea, Macgee, wish my Athol had replaceable jaws. However the smooth jaws are in very nice shape. Just bought a pair of magnetic jaws savers, with rubber face for use on things like threads on bolts and other items that I don't want metal to metal contact.
