It was never a piston stuck. It was the inexperienced person just before I took it.
I've been around these engines long enough to know whether it is worth rebuilding/repairing....this one is definitely worth repairing.
I found a crankshaft on ebay that is for the engine. I'll replace it...
Yes. That was my first though. I turned the flywheel by hand with the spark plug out, it turned easily but stopped after about 3/4 of a turn. So, I pulled the sump cover, and saw the connecting rod had broke just under the connecting rod pin. Fortunate the cylinder did not get damaged nor did...

I was given a 30" Ariens snowblower with a 10hp Techumseh horizontal shaft engine. The connecting rod needs replacement. The prior owner though the piston was stuck in the cylinder due to lack of use, tried turning the crank and went too far, busting the nut off with about 1/2" of the...

This one still has the original spark plug and fuel valve shut off as the over spray of paint is on them.
Hi...just picked this up on the side of the road. Fired up instantly with a shot of 2 cycle mix in the throat of the carburetor.
Anyone have an idea as to it's decade of production i.e. 90s, 80s, 70s ?
The information on the model tag is worn.
Thanks
