    Mandatory Water Cutoff Valve?

I haven't heard of mandatory, but I installed a robo shutoff actuator with a couple water sensors around for peace of mine while I'm away for work or travel. One in the kitchen and another below my manifold. And some heat tape around my plumbing which flicks on when a thermometer indicates the...

    Are Air Compressors still necessary?

The M18 inflator has largely replaced my air compressor for tires and small scale dust blowing. My nail guns are battery. Currently I only use an air compressor for flooring stapler, air jack, and pneumatic hammer. When I have a little more space a plasma torch will join the family. But to your...

Plumbing! PEX A Expansion Tool (USA Made Dewalt)

I used the dewalt tool for all the plumbing in the house and was quite pleased with it. Intended to sell it after I was done but it's been useful for loaning out to friends.

    Best Ratchet Straps Ever?

Never knew I needed sheepskin ratchet strap covers. Lot of choices on that site. Might pickup some of the "endless" straps, like a ratcheting version of the NRS river strap.

Wow that's a beaut! I need some of those aggressive tires. Here's mine helping with framing

Rigging for lifting pallets and other options for lifting stuff to 2nd floor?

I acquired a very old grey-market Toyota forklift for lifting things to the deck level at our compound. Despite indoor tires it has been incredibly useful for moving things outside and I only get stuck in gravel every third or fourth time I use it. It's really sweet to have the option to...

Starlink mounting options - Let's see yours

If there was any alternative option that would work for our use case I would support another company. But it's the only option for now that provides high speed internet in remote places. Here's a packout I setup with a mini. We attach it to a mount on a snow machine or fourwheeler while we're...

What kind of tools have you found in the road??

No big deal, but I'm sort of a Snap-On guy now 😎

I am going broke buying duplicates of tools

I can empathize about losing tools, well not losing but misplacing temporarily, it is deep in my being. It took me a concerted effort to organize my tools (with big help from a 3d printer) and make sure they went back where they belong. After awhile it became a habit and the mental fog lifted...

    VEVOR pass/fail

I was looking at that today, we need something like that on an ATV trailer for filling camp generators and heaters. Pump seems to work well?

    VEVOR pass/fail

Picked up a 33 piece impact set for a field project. Sockets looks pretty decent, ratchet feels smooth and stout without much back drag. $67.

    VEVOR pass/fail

With the lack of Harbor Freight in Alaska my only 'local' source of cheapo tools is a store that sells only VEVOR products. I could not find any continuous thread about their products so I would be interested to see the hits and misses. Bonus points if you know what product it is knocking off or...

    Do you "exercise" your ratchets?

I have literally never thought about it. I've never had a ratchet not work from sitting in the toolbox. I wouldn't think that grease would evaporate? Pliers sure, they need a workout after some idle time.
